THE WNKY LOCAL FORECAST

Updated 9:35am Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

More sunshine and hot temps again today as daytime highs top out in the low 90s across southern Kentucky.  The humidity levels won't be too stifling today, but as a more southerly wind flow develops tomorrow the humidity levels will begin to increase.   A mix of sun and clouds for the remainder of the work week with any chance for rain being slim to none.  The opportunity for rain comes around this weekend with an approaching cold front and we could definitely use the wet weather to quench our more than 2 inch rain deficit.   A slight chance for showers and storms on both Saturday and Sunday with the best chance on Sunday as the front moves into the Ohio Valley.  We could see some beneficial rain if Fay's remnants make it our way early next week.  We'll also enjoy a second helping of unseasonably cool temps as highs fall back into the low and mid 80s on Monday and Tuesday.
